Willamette University is a nationally renowned private liberal arts university in Salem, Oregon. Founded in 1842, Willamette is the first university established in the western U.S. and hosts an undergraduate program and two professional graduate programs: Law and MBA.

Willamette's Full-Time MBA program is specifically designed to prepare students for their first professional career position, career change or advancement in business, government and not-for-profit organizations. Student Campus Life

Willamette MBA students benefit from a vibrant social life that includes student activities, professional organizations, long-standing Willamette traditions and an active community. With so many options available, students have the ability to find the programs and organizations that meet their personal and professional interests.

Willamette MBA students add valuable experience to their resumes in and out of the classroom. Students often take the opportunity to involve themselves as leaders or members in organizations geared towards career or recreational interests.

Students can participate in a variety of professional and social/recreational activities. Barbecues, receptions, the international student dinner, student professional organizations, community service projects, food drives, holiday celebrations, alumni activities, pizza nights, traditional Thursday Night Out parties, and the time-honored Brownwater Regatta (a celebration of spring) balance the academic demands of the program.

Residence Life and Housing Services

Willamette offers limited on-campus housing for graduate students, which can be arranged after confirmation of enrollment. Being situated in the heart of Salem, there is also plentiful off-campus housing available within walking distance to the university. Willamette MBA offers arrival services to all incoming students, including airport pick-up, assistance finding temporary and permanent accommodation, and assistance establishing a bank account and obtaining a cell phone. 

International Graduate Application Requirements
Atkinson Graduate School of Management

All applicants must show they have obtained or will obtain a bachelor degree from a college/university accredited by the appropriate U.S. regional institutional accrediting agency, or an equivalent degree from another country, prior to the first semester of enrollment in the MBA program. Three and four year bachelor degrees from international colleges/universities are considered equivalent if the degree is Bologna Accord compliant or if the degree granting institution is recognized by the country's national or regional accreditation/quality assurance organization.

Financial Aid/Scholarships

Educational Loans

International students may be eligible for private educational loans such as the Discover MBA Loan or private credit-based educational loans.

Merit-based Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships range from 10% to 100% of tuition. All applicants admitted to a full-time format of the Willamette MBA program are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships based on GMAT or GRE score, undergraduate grade point average, experience, potential, and ability to contribute to the overall learning experience.

Applicants interested in maximum consideration for scholarship assistance are urged to complete the application process as soon as possible. Approximately 60% of students enrolled in one of the full-time formats of the Willamette MBA receive merit-based scholarship assistance.

Graduate Assistantships and Student Employment

Assistantships provide the opportunity to work a few hours a week for a professor or staff member at an hourly wage of $10 per hour while attending the MBA program.

Monthly Payment Plan

Willamette offers a deferred payment program through Tuition Management Systems (TMS). This interest-free payment plan offers students a program through which educational expenses for the year can be spread out over 8, 10 or 12 months. This monthly payment plan option has a $75 application fee for the year. Under this plan you divide your net expenses for the entire year by 8, 10 or 12 to determine your monthly payment.
