7 Tips from Current International Students

Over the past few weeks, WES Student Advisor has invited groups of international students to join us for a fun discussion on how we can reach out to and help the next generation of international students. Students from China, Grenada, Armenia, Ecuador, and Brazil have come together to share their experiences studying abroad in the U.S. and why they think you should too. Here are some fun tips and facts we learned from our students that we think would be helpful for you too.

#1. Use LinkedIn to check what graduates from the university you're interested in are now doing
#2. Apart from rankings, also look into employment rates and starting salaries of students from the university
#3. Use social media to find current international students attending the university you're interested in to learn about the program curriculum and academic life
#4. Do your own research on schools and make a decision on the school that would best fit you
#5. Coming to study abroad can also be a great way for a career change
#6. Think smart and think long term
#7. Living in the U.S. is a great way to improve your English
