WEBINAR RECAP: Applying to MBA Programs in the U.S.

By Jordan Friedman

On July 23, WES Student Advisor held a webinar for international students focusing on the MBA admissions process in the United States. We live tweeted the webinar using the hashtag #WESSAwebinar.

Joining us for this webinar were Jack Nelson, director of recruitment for graduate business programs at Hofstra University's Frank G. Zarb School of Business, and Deliece Knights from Trinidad and Tobago, who will begin working toward her MBA at Baruch College - City University of New York this fall. The webinar was hosted by Ian Wright, institution relations manager at World Education Services.

Nelson provided information about the difference between an MBA and MS degree in the United States and, using his own experiences as an admissions counselor, offered advice on successfully applying to MBA programs in the U.S.

Nelson also discussed the importance of thoroughly researching the schools you are applying to beforehand.

Following Nelson, Knights provided a unique perspective: that of an international student who recently was accepted into an MBA program in the United States.

To sum it up, Wright, the moderator, said:

Our next webinar will take place August 6 and will focus on applying to law school in the United States. Register here.
