Celebrating Thanksgiving as an International Student

Happy Thanksgiving! If you’re interested in learning more about this holiday in the United States, you can read a bit about it on the History website.

Thanksgiving can be an opportunity for you to learn more about U.S. culture. At the University of Mississippi, for example, international students can join local families in the area for traditional Thanksgiving meals. The Post, the University of Ohio’s student newspaper, also reported that faculty members and some local organizations hold Thanksgiving meals for international students who don’t return home for the holiday weekend.

Other international students see Thanksgiving as a time to relax and catch up on their studying or even create untraditional Thanksgiving traditions.

What are you doing during the Thanksgiving weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
