Five Things to do Before Summer Ends

Summer is a very fun season, especially if you’re an international student experiencing your first summer in the U.S.! The start of a new school year is just around the corner, so here’s a list of the things you can do to make the most out of summertime before it ends:

Go on a Road Trip
The U.S. is a country that is best experienced by car. Whether you live in the South, Midwest, East, or West coast, there are plenty of different road trips you can plan based around where you live. The U.S. is a country full of vast landscape; visit the U.S. National Park Service website, where you can discover all the natural wonders the country has to offer.

Watch the Sunset
The slower pace of summer gives you more free time, especially in the evening. Find the best spot in your area to watch the sunset, invite friends, and enjoy the beauty of watching the colors fill the sky as the sun goes down!

Host a BBQ
There aren’t many things that are more American than having an outdoor barbecue in the summer. It’s a great excuse to spend the day with friends, enjoy delicious grilled food, and have one last celebration before school begins.

Unplug from Technology
When the fall season starts again, and you find yourself busy with a long to-do list, you will have fewer chances for quiet time. Take advantage of the free time you have now by unplugging from your tech devices, and reading a good book in the park, taking an evening stroll, or meditating. Do whatever makes you feel happy and relaxed.

Do Something Touristy
Does the town you live in have an interesting monument, a famous restaurant or museum, or just something touristy that you’ve been meaning do, but were too busy with school before? Now is the perfect time to be a tourist in your own city! You could even have a fun challenge and see how many tourist spots you and your friends can visit before the summer ends.

Take this list, and use it to make this summer in the U.S. one of the best you’ve had yet! Is there anything fun you like to do in the summer and want to share? Tell us about it in the comments below.
